You still can’t do better than the graffiti art in the streets to display the finest of Banksy’s work in graffiti.
The graffiti that you spot on the streets doesn’t take long to materialize as a Banksy stencil, poster, print or spray painted imagery. Banksy always manages to get the combination of humour, politics and mind-blowing graphics just right. It is this combination that has made his creation stand out and become just about instantly recogniseable.
His inspiration has hit thousands of art afficionados with his very unique signature technique of combining stencil art and graffiti. The majority of Banksy posters are actually mass produced which keeps the price down and attracts a broader group, nevertheless there are still many signed posters that are much sought after and can demand very high prices. Along with these, the original posters can be a terrific investment. Look out for the limited editions.
All of the Banksy art that is made on the street is not everlasting. Street art and graffiti is easily defaced and the walls they are on can simply be demolished or painted over from time to time. Relocating work can be a hard task. This is why for many, posters are terrific as they are portable and can be stored and moved with no trouble. I appreciate…. its not quite the same as an original Banksy on a brick wall or canvas nevertheless for a lot of us for now this will just have to do!
